Chiropractic Care

We use many chiropractic techniques. The most frequently used are Diversified, Thompson Drop, and Sacral Occipital, and ART Technique.

Diversified adjusting is the main form of adjusting taught at chiropractic schools. The doctor uses her hands to adjust the spine and joints. The doctor will position the patient and then apply direct and controlled pressure. Sometimes a pop is heard, however this is not the adjustment, rather a side effect of the adjustment.

Thompson Drop technique utilizes a drop table. These tables have levers which raise the body part and then pressure is applied to the body. The table drops only about two inches. This technique uses inertia to adjust the body.

Sacral Occipital Technique, also known as SOT, is a low force technique, in which blocks (look like wedges) are used. This technique works with the nervous system to re-align the bones.

In our office, all these techniques and many more may be utilized in one visit to get the desired results. We choose the type of adjustment that will fit you best.

Active Release Technique (ART) is a form of myofascial release. It is a way to work with chronic muscle tightness, injuries, repetitive stress injuries and scar tissue. ART breaks up the scar tissues and then with exercises and stretches, your body can recover and heal.

Proprioceptive Neuromuscular Facilitation (PNF) is a more advanced form of flexibility training that involves both the stretching and contraction of the muscle group being targeted. PNF stretching was originally developed as a form of rehabilitation, and to that effect it is very effective.

Craniosacral Therapy

Craniosacral therapy works through the craniosacral system involving the cerebrospinal fluid that surrounds and protects the brain and spinal cord. The craniosacral system is the structural aspect of the central nervous system, which involves all systems of the body. The craniosacral system is intimately related to and influences the nervous, musculoskeletal, vascular, lymphatic, endocrine and respiratory systems.

Delicate manual techniques of light touch are used to detect and correct imbalances, release problem areas and relieve undue pressure on the brain and spinal cords; which may interfere with the proper functioning of the body. Craniosacral therapy may rid the body of residual effects of stress, injury, past trauma; and increase resistance to disease.

CranioSacral Therapy may help many conditions as it can affect all aspects of the body by enhancing general health, reducing stress and improving brain and spinal cord function.

Craniosacral Therapy is a gentle form of wholistic therapy developed from cranial osteopathy and oriental approach to bodywork by Dr. John E Upledger.

Laser Therapy

Laser Therapy is the use of specific wave lengths of light to treat painful and debilitating conditions. When a physical condition or injury effects mobility or quality of life, there is one goal:  A rapid return to every-day activities.  We have the most advanced equipment on the market to deliver these results.

Supplements and Supports

Within our office we offer many supplements, supports and pain relieving and healing creams. Through your history and exam we can suggest supplements and supports that will be helpful to you.

If you know which supplements you need, please call our office and we’ll have them ready for you.

Nutritional Response Testing (NRT)

Dr. Newbold and Dr. Bolton both use Nutritional Response Testing to determine what supplements your body needs. The analysis is performed simply by using your body’s own muscle group in combination with acupressure points to determine where the underlying weakness is in the body and then, using the same technique we design a natural health improvement program to help you handle what we find in the analysis.
